[Fixed] Cyberpanel self signed SSL issue

Cyberpanel self signed SSL issue is a common issue. If you have just installed cyberpanel and you are not able to generate SSL successfully, you are not alone who is facing this issue.
Even I have faced the same issue and I was not able to find a solution on cyberpanel forum or on any documentation of cyberpanel because my issue was not listed and cyberpanel.
Finally, I found the solution after many tries and any of the below mentioned solutions should work for you depending upon your situation.

Before I start with the solution, make sure you have met the below requirements before generating SSL.

Requirements:

  1. Make sure your Domain name is pointing to your server IP.
  2. You should wait for 24-48hrs and let the DNS update get completed if you have made any DNS update.
  3.  Login into Cyberpanel > website list, and click on ‘manage’ which is for your domain.
    Then open the file manager and click on “Fix permission”.

Solution 1

Login into server as root user and execute the below command

wget -O – https://get.acme.sh | sh

(Replace hostathash.com with your Domain name)

cyberpanel acme command

Now try again generating the SSL from Dashboard > SSL > Manage SSL > (Select your domain) > Issue SSL

If the issue was with acme challenge, your SSL should be generated and installed automatically in up to 5 mins.

Solution 2

  1. Login into SSH
  2. Execute the below command (replace ‘[email protected]’ with your own email)

    acme.sh –register-account -m [email protected]

    cyberpanel ssl account create

Now try again generating the SSL from Dashboard > SSL > Manage SSL > (Select your domain) > Issue SSL
If the issue was of account creation at Zero SSL, your SSL should be generated in up to 5 mins.

 

Solution 3

If the above methods did not solve your issue, execute the following command in SSH and check the error you are getting
(Copy the full command and replace <YOUR_DOMAIN> with your domain name).

/root/.acme.sh/acme.sh –issue -d <YOUR_DOMAIN> -d www.<YOUR_DOMAIN> –cert-file /etc/letsencrypt/live/<YOUR_DOMAIN>/cert.pem –key-file /etc/letsencrypt/live/<YOUR_DOMAIN>/privkey.pem –fullchain-file /etc/letsencrypt/live/<YOUR_DOMAIN>/fullchain.pem -w /home/<YOUR_DOMAIN>/public_html –force –debug

Once you know the error, it will be easy to solve it
